Little Bit was a rescue. Her former owner did not have anything to feed her and didn't seem to care. A local trainer bought and worked her and sold her to me.I thought I could provide her a forever home where all she was asked to do was relax, eat and agree to be ridden every other month or so. I was wrong. Bit soon became a herd-bound, sour mare who kicked whenever she was asked to do anything and threw me whenver I attempted to ride her. Scheduled to go into a sale, I was terrified a meat packer would buy her, yet I was too afraid to go near her. That's when I saw Pams' flyer and gave her a call.
I was impressed from the start. Pams' understanding of the situation and patient willingness showed when she first put a halter and lead on the horse. Her training Bit to load into a trailer was an education for both me and the horse! Starting from the very beginning, Pam taught her ground manners and then proceeded to saddle work. On subsequent visits to her farm, I saw my horse become a trained horse; one who became more manageable, more fit and most importantly, more relaxed. Bit had a job to do and she liked it.
I have learned much from Pam about my horse and horses in general. Little Bit is now in a condition to be sold to someone who can finish her in whatever discipline they choose. The fear of the slaughterhouse buyer is forever gone and I know she will find a good place with a job to do. Pam has allowed my horse the opportunity to be all that she can be. And no owner can ask for more than that.

I highly recommend Pam for everyone who is wanting and needing someone to work with your horse. She is a true horseman in every sense of the word. She is kind, gentle and very knowledgeable.
Pam covered everything from starting my 2 year old gelding to lead, hoof care and on to riding him and everything in between. She also covered all of the smallest details, which some of us wouldn’t even think about doing. I was very impressed with the way my horse would walk over a tarp on a windy day.
Pam has a lot of patience and talent and has educated me as well as my horse. It was a real pleasure to work with and know Pam. I will miss her.

"Pam has done a wonderful job training my 4 year old warmblood cross. Ruby is more confident, willing to please and works very hard. Pam spent a lot of attention to executing the round pen and bridle work to where it is easy for me to continue on with Ruby's training. Pam is very patient and explains her methods and theories so that I can continue working with my horse once she is home. The bridle work really helps establish a nice core foundation and continues once under saddle. Pam is very knowledgeable, conscientious about the care she gives to the horses. The facilities are very pleasant, clean and safe. There is plenty of turnout with lots of fresh water and pasture.
I would most definitely recommend Pam to anyone who needed their horse to be in training whether it be a youngster, a problem horse or for a refresher. Pam would approach each horse as an individual and plan her training strategy appropriately."

I can’t find the words to express how grateful I am for what Pam has done for Becky and I. After a freak accident occurred while I was working with my young mare, she lost all trust in me and trembled at the very sight of a saddle. Pam was so patient with both of us and now there’s nothing I can’t ask of my horse that she won’t do.
Thanks to Pam’s gentle methods, she has gone from the horse that no one could catch in the field to the horse that meets you at the gate ready to work with confidence. Pam is very knowledgeable in all aspects of horsemanship and truly enjoys educating others. I wouldn’t hesitate calling upon her again if I ever had a question or problem.

Our 3 year old gelding, Chance, just returned from Pam Spearing's training facility. We rode him on his first night back at our farm and can not believe all that Pam taught him while they were together. He is eager to respond and please whether we are doing ground work or while he is under saddle.
One year ago we sent him to a different trainer with a far different result. After 3 weeks of training she returned him to us and refunded our money. She said he had reared and falllen over on his back five times. During one of his fallls he broke her saddle. She concluded that he was untrainable because he was so frightened all of the time. Our vet confirmed that his back was bruised but there was no permanent injury.
We continued to do ground work with Chance and to search for another trainer. We found Pam through John Lyon's website and after our first consultation with her we knew we had found the right person. Her calm and confident approach to horse training is amazing to watch and the results speak for themselves. We visited her farm so she could teach us her methods both on the ground and under saddle. We are now more competent and confident as we work with our horses.
I highly recommend Pam Spearing to anyone who is seeking to improve their skills or the training level of their horse. Do not give up on your horse, whatever the challenges, just call Pam.
